FTDI Chip UT232R-200 USB to Serial Adapter Converter - High Speed USB 2.0 to RS232 DB9 Serial Port Cable for Industrial Equipment, POS Terminals, and Embedded Systems

I ordered two (2) of these 2-meter long FTDI-based USB-to-Serial converter cables to replace existing Keyspan and Prolific cables. The previous cables worked fine, but the lack of native driver support has been annoying over time and I have now standardized on FTDI. I have paid up to four times the price of these cables and they work fine. They are 2-meters in length, a bit longer than I need, but I'm willing to bundle a loop of excess wire and hide it given the discounted pricing. Frequently, any fake chip will not work properly with the native drivers, but these cables worked perfectly and this continued through extensive testing.They report themselves to be UT232R, but inside my virtual machines, they appear the same as standard Windows COM ports. This provides me with COM2-COM8 for my purposes after the two of these I purchased added COM7 and COM8.It is wonderful to find an affordable FTDI-based USB-to-serial cable that works. A true 5-out-of-5 product so far.PS. I believe the -200 in the product listing title refers to the length of 200cm. It would have been nice to see that in the description.Update: You know that little "Buy It Again" button next to your items ordered? Yes, I like these so much I made a second order and it was delivered -very- promptly. I highly recommend you have a few of these around as spares. They are a true bargain.
