What a great external drive. Small and fast. It was advertised as "up to" 950 MB/s, and I did not expect that I would see that level of performance. I got over 900 MB/s on both write and read. Oyen stated that they typically use an Intel 660 SSD in the 1TB Helix devices. Note that you can't buy that SSD with enclosure and cables for this price. I would consider this drive to be a real bargain. Don't hesitate to buy it.Although in a sturdy enclosure, this drive seems to he a bit "clunky" when set down on a surface. I would recommend buying the drive in the bumper or getting a bumper from Oyen for another $12. One other thing ... I did not think that this drive runs hot, as some of the reviewers say. It is warm to the touch, but the enclosure fins seem to keep it comfortably cool.
