I will start by saying that it's very hard to impress me but Polycom managed to pull it off here. Now on to the review.I've been using conference phones for many years for various employers. Throughout those years, I've always been very impressed with the sound quality of Polycom speakerphones in corporate conference rooms. If you've ever heard that rich, full, sound from the corporate world, you know what I'm referring to. Now that I have a home office I decided to find a nice speakerphone that would work for me as I'm quite picky about sound quality.I decided to buy the eMeet M2 and the Polycom VoxBox. After testing both for a few weeks, I chose the Polycom and returned the M2 for one main reason (the most important reason): Sound Quality. Although the M2 sounded decent, the VoxBox speakerphone is absolutely superior to the M2. The caller's voice on the Polycom sounds full, deep, and clear. It's almost as if the caller is there with you. It really does bring a corporate quality Speakerphone to my home office. The M2 sounded good, but had a brighter sound that didn't agree with my ears much. One thing I really appreciate with the VoxBox is that the buttons are very intuitive and easy to activate and deactivate. The mute button is a big red microphone that is off when not in use and turns a nice red color when mute is activated. To answer and hang-up a call, you simply press the phone icon button which is lit green when active on a call.Pairing the device with bluetooth is extremely easy as all that is needed is to hold down the bluetooth button and it is ready to pair. I've paired the VoxBox with my MacBook and iPhone. It works great for both. There's absolutely no issues switching seamlessly between the two devices. For the laptop and via bluetooth, the VoxBox is great for Webex, Skype, and Google Meet. Sound quality there is great as well. Upon closing an online meeting, the VoxBox goes back into waiting mode. So if a call then comes into my iPhone, it rings on the Voxbox and I can answer it there. Again, seamless switching. Quality of voice both ways is superb.Again, I've tried a few other speakerphones and the sound quality here is extremely impressive. I've queried a few of my clients to ask about the quality and everyone replied that it was great.Battery Life: the battery life is great and it will make it easily through an entire day or two or three of usage without a charge. However, admittedly, I frequently plug it in the USB on my laptop and that will charge it as well as allow me to use the Polycom software. The software allows the user to update the firmware on the device as well as control a few of the features. It's nice that Polycom provides both PC and OSX software. Very nice of them!Overall, this is the best sounding speakerphone I've ever owned and I'm hoping to keep it for many years. The design is wonderful and it really looks as good as it sounds. The volume is fully adjustable and, if needed, loud enough to fill a medium sized room -- so it would work great in a corporate office as well. Another thing I like is that when connected via USB, it shows up as a device for the microphone and speaker and can be configured directly in the online meeting apps. In that mode, the sound quality is even better than bluetooth. However, mostly I prefer the bluetooth as the quality is still excellent but it's nice to carryt the speakerphone with me around the house as needed. Sometimes I might pop it on mute and carry it into the kitchen to make a sandwich while a conference call is going on. :)I highly recommend this speakerphone for consultants, doctors, lawyers, and anyone else who may have an office and desires the best of the best in speakerphones. If you are the type of person who demands the best, buy this speakerphone. The final nice touch is that Polycom provided all the cables needed for it and it also comes with a nice soft case for travel! Great job Polycom!
